Cease and Desist letter
A letter requesting that an individual or business cease to partake in an activity this is harassing or infringing either yourself or your business. This will letter will include a deadline, after which legal action may be taken if the activity has not stopped.
Cease and Desist Letters are commonly sent to prevent harassment or to try to resolve property boundary issues.
You should seek legal advice from an intellectual property, or commercial lawyer, before sending a Cease and Desist Letter if:
You are a victim of copyright or trademark infringement.
You are a victim of patent infringement.
Someone is plagiarizing your work.
You want to stop a breach of contract.
