Newsflash: WIPO names Matthew Harris as Legal Rights Objection Expert
Jun 19, 2012
Last week in a fanfare of publicity ICANN revealed which companies, organizations, start-ups, geographical regions and others had applied for gTLDs (generic Top Level Domains) and which top level domain names had been applied for. The full list of 1,930 applications is available on the ICANN website. Applications range from “.AUTO” to “.WATCHES” and from “.AMAZON” to “.VOLVO”. With somewhat less publicity, the World Intellectual Property Organization then released its list of “Legal Rights Objection Experts”. These are the individuals that have been tasked with deciding disputes between gTLD applicants and trade mark owners.
Waterfront is proud to announce that partner Matthew Harris has been named as one of only seven UK lawyers on that list of experts.
