Meet Daniel Lee, co-Founder of technology company Artirix. Daniel will be speaking at Waterfront's Corporate Seminar: Realising Maximum Value From the Sale of Your Private Company on 10 May 2012.   Q.      We’ll start with an easy one…  when was Artirix established?   January 2010, after the sale of part of globrix.com to DMGT.   Q.     What’s your elevator pitch?   We run cloud based software as a service solution around data and content search and retrieval for B2B and B2C publishers.   Q.     What is the one piece of advice that you would give to someone just about to go into business on their own?   Make sure you have the right team around you  - it is very difficult to build a significant business on your own;  and a second which is equally important is to have the right level of funding in place.   Q.     What is the best business decision that you’ve ever made?  And the worst…?  (If you’re prepared to share!)   Best - starting globrix.com even though I had a very well paid and interesting job.   Worst - not launching a site I built for my own personal use to aggregate flights - similar sites are now worth millions but I had no idea at the time how to build and fund a business.   Q.     What are you going to do differently over the next 12 months (particularly in light of the current economic climate)?   As an international business we are less dependent on local country economic issues - we have put funding in place to grow aggressively over the next 3 years - difficult economic conditions mean lower rents and lower salaries and general reduced overheads so as long as you have a product that gives real ROI there is a chance to expand.   You can find out more about Artirix at www.artirix.com
