London Legal Walk 2015
May 19, 2015
Yesterday was the annual London Legal Walk: a 10 kilometre walk around central London which raises money for free legal advice charities so they can help the poorest and most vulnerable in society.
The work of the charities has been even more important in recent years, partly due to the removal of Legal Aid for so many types of cases. You may have seen the edition of Panorama in March of this year, which highlighted the struggles faced by those tackling the justice system without any legal assistance.
Ever year the legal community walks the route to raise money and Waterfront are no exception. At approximately 5pm a crack commando unit of four Waterfront-ers was dispatched from 14 Weller Street. The sun was shining and everyone was in good spirits. The highlights included a brief glimpse of Charles and Camilla as they were driven at speed down the Mall and into Clarence House.
Over two hours later we were back at the Royal Courts of Justice for a well-earned beer and a de-brief. We would like to thank everyone that sponsored us; we really appreciate your support. If this blog has inspired you to support this cause, please do so here.
