Eye on Cityscapes
May 29, 2012
A few Waterfronters were lucky enough to head along to the Cityscapes Pommery EyeGarden earlier this month. Cityscapes is series of garden installations taking place in and around London’s South Bank over the summer. The gardens are designed by leading designers and artists, with locations including the Design Museum and the Old Vic Tunnels. To launch the festival, the Cityscapes team turned a humble EDF Energy London Eye pod into an oasis of greenery (design for this installation headed by garden designer Andy Sturgeon). To top it all off, the sun was shining and Champagne Pommery was on hand to ride the Eye in style! Cityscapes is a fantastic initiative, aiming to rethink the way that the few-and-far-between green spaces in urban areas are designed. For those of you based in London be sure to head along to one of the Cityscapes sites or take a stroll along the Cityscapes Garden Trail.
